David McDuff, MD

Dr. David McDuff is a nationally recognized sports and performance psychiatrist with decades of experience working at the highest levels of athletics. He has served as psychiatrist for the Baltimore Orioles from 1996–2026 and the Baltimore Ravens from 1996–2013, and as a Performance Medicine Physician for the Indianapolis Colts from 2015–2018. He also served as a Sports Psychiatry Consultant for the National Football League from 2013–2020.

Dr. McDuff is a member of the International Olympic Committee’s Consensus Panel and Work Group on Mental Health in Elite Athletes and currently serves as Sports & Performance Psychiatrist for the Towson University Athletic Department. He is the author of Sports Psychiatry: Strategies for Life Balance & Peak Performance, published by American Psychiatric Publishing, Inc.

His work has helped define the field of sports psychiatry through clinical care, organizational consultation, education, and mental performance support for elite athletes and teams.
